Today's painting was created at my new Pinot & Paint class pre-party (of sorts). I had a run-through with my daughter and her friends to learn the needs of the students as well as ironing out any wrinkles. As always, I learn something from the students as well! One of the biggest challenges of running a workshop or class is to figure out the timing needed for each step. You may have heard of the new craze of wine and paint parties. I've googled them to see what's up. Most of them lead you through a step-by-step process of creating a painting, but I see that they are cookie-cutter in the sense that everyone's looks the same. An owl, the Eiffel Tower, etc. My hope is to have a class that is abstract expressionist or impressionist in nature. I'd like to lead people into using paint, color and texture to express what they are feeling or not feeling at the moment. There will still be steps, but freedom within those steps. You do not have to know how to draw to enjoy this. It is good therapy, folks! This painting is for sale, by the way! :)
