Fits and starts today. I thought I was finished with this painting, four photo loadings ago. Everytime I would get the photo loaded into my computer and started through the steps to post it, I would see something else it "needed". It didn't feel balanced or my focus was drawn to a part that I didn't want. Seeing it smaller and on my computer helped me to see it fresh. After working on it all day, and for several days in a row, I get lost in everything and can't really see it objectively anymore. Note to self...do this sooner rather than later in the process. I still am not sure I am finished but I will put it aside and get at the next painting. This painting is about the feet of Jesus, nailed to the cross. I use the blue rectangle to bring focus to that theme. Some might think this lyric is a weird fixation on a gruesome event. It is gruesome. As I painted it, I thought about all of those people, those actual people who have suffered greatly at the hands of others throughout our human history."This is for you," I told them with each brushstroke..."you are not forgotten."
