Acrylic on Archival Gessobord with 3/4" Birch Sides Too many life details today, so I thought I'd share the progression of a painting. Yesterday's painting In Remembrance of poppies. Sometimes it's fun to see what is underneath the layers of a finished painting. Here are three of the stages. I try to take pictures along the way, so that I can remember what I did. And occasionally, I get inquiries from people about how I did a certain technique. I don't mind sharing those tricks. I learned from other artists as well. The most frequent question (and I find myself doing this, too) is "how long did it take you to do that?" My latest answer is "about 33 years (or rather 56 years and counting.)" All that I know now is an accumulation of experiences, classes, reading, life lessons and experimentation....with paint, that is. Artist joke. Hope your day is a good one!
