Acrylic on Archival Gessobord with 3/4" Birch Sides, 12x12", Ready to hang!
When things seem to fall apart, I often go into an emotionless state. I become stoic of face and mind. This is the total opposite of my usual self. My usual self cries at Hallmark commercials. I don't know why I just told you that. Anyway. I, for the most part, refuse to let a painting not work for me. Once my cat walked across my wet palette and then across a painting that I had been working on for hours and hours. This, while I wasn't present, of course. And, in a color that was not removable. I just worked the paw prints into the foliage of the flowers. Who knew, right? So, I doggedly kept at this one and here it is...from a picture I took this summer when I was up in the Green Bay/Washington Island area. I sat and watched the sunset and took hundreds of pictures. What attracted me to this one was the one small strip of white sky under the blanket of gray blue sky, just along the horizon. If you look closely you will see a small boat on the water.
