Acrylic on Archival Gessobord with 3/4" Birch Sides, 12x12", Ready to hang!
Two days ago I painted this painting. Today I revisited it and was able to objectively, without sentiment, do what needed to be done. The other day I was so enraptured with all of the beautiful colors and nuances happening, that I couldn't for the life of me, cover any of it up. Today I realized that to truly bring out the beauty and meaning of the painting, I would indeed have to cover up some areas. This is very difficult for me to do. And, I am afraid. I am afraid that I will ruin it. And then what? And then...life won't end. I will set it aside and move on. Maybe someday I will come back to it, or completely cover it up and start over. It's all about trying things, right? I daily fight the fear, in so many ways. "Fear is the mind-killer..." but I say it is also the heart killer. It is so stifling. So today I dove in. Whether it helped, I'm not sure, but I did it. I will let you be the judge. I am satisfied that I gave it a whirl. Literally. A whirl...of orange and more.
